If you don’t solve a big, painful problem for your potential clients or customers, it doesn’t matter how good your marketing and sales are; you will not get any results. Why? because no one will care.

If you want to get leads appointments and clients predictably every month, it is essential that you solve a big, painful problem.

Once you can solve that big, painful problem that you provide for clients or customers, you need to communicate how you solve that problem in a way that gets people excited to want to work with you.

I’ve worked with many clients over the years, and some of these clients, for example, Plumbers, Rescreening companies, lawyers, dentists, and Roofers, all know that they can solve big problems for their clients, but the problem is they don’t know how to communicate this in a way that actually gets people excited.

 

Step two is to create a video sales letter.

And when I say that this is a fully automated way to get booked appointments on your calendar or people ringing the phone… I really do mean it’s a fully automated way to get people ringing the phone or book appointments on your calendar.

So, a video sales letter in your business is kind of like having a salesperson working for you 24/7, explaining to your potential clients or customers the big problem that you can solve for them.

So, how can you create a video sales letter? Well, first of all, it doesn’t need to be fancy. You don’t need to be on camera, buy expensive video equipment, or hire a video production company.

All you need to do is create a simple PowerPoint or keynote presentation similar to the one that you’re watching right now that explains how you can help.

Step 3 is to create a sales funnel engineered to get sales appointments or phone calls.

So what exactly is a sales funnel? You probably heard the word funnel used hundreds of times before by now and put simply a funnel is a way to get people to take a specific set of actions to reach your ultimate goal.

  • So if your goal is to get more clients or customers, you need to get more… 

appointments or phone calls.

  • To get more appointments or phone calls, you need to get more high-quality leads.

So the more leads, appointments, and phone calls you get the more clients you will win. 

So with a funnel, we want people to take a specific set of actions that will lead to a high-quality sales appointment or phone call.

Now at this point, you might be wondering okay well what kind of funnel do you need to create? There are hundreds of different funnels that you could create.

Let me show you exactly what this final looks like. By the way, if you don’t yet have this funnel in your business, it means that there’s a huge opportunity for growth.

So the big question is what does this funnel look like? [draw this on a board] Well first of all you need to have a landing page or (opt-in page). 

On this page, you want to have a big title that goes through the big, painful problem that you solve for your potential clients.

Most importantly, you want to have a button that people can click on, and when they click on this button, they can then enter their name and email to get access to the video.

Now it’s very important that you ask for the name and email and I’ll explain why later on but once you have the name and email you can redirect them to the video page.

On the video page, you see a page that looks similar to the one that you are on right now, and basically, on the video page, you have a video.

After people watch that video, they can then go to step two which has a button where they can click on it.

After they watch the video, they can either take action by… 

Clicking the button will redirect them to your calendar, where they will answer a few questions and then schedule an appointment with you to learn more about how you can help them… 

or they can call you directly on the phone.

If they decide to fill in the appointment details and click to schedule the appointment they are then redirected to a thank you and confirmation page. 

Now there are a few variations of how this funnel works but more or less this is what it looks like.

Once your funnel is set up you can also maximize your conversions by using email marketing and retargeting strategies. 

The way that it works is that you would have your funnel, and not everyone who watches your video is going to schedule an appointment with you right away. So what you need to do is have a way of following up with them.

One way you could do that is with a follow-up email. You can then have the follow-up email send people back to either your video page or your schedule call Page.

That’s why in the first step the landing page of the opt-in page it was important that we asked for the name and email.

On top of that if you want to get even better results, you can also have retargeting ads that retarget people that have visited your website pages but haven’t yet taken action.

Now as I mentioned having a funnel is pointless if no one actually sees it, so you need a way of getting people to actually go to your funnel.

Step four is all about focusing on the marketing activities that actually get results.

One of the biggest mistakes I see is that people spend thousands of dollars or countless hours on marketing that does not produce results or produces painfully slow results.

So how can you avoid this? Well, what I recommend is that you use the Pareto Principle. What you’ll find with a Pareto Principle or the 80/20 rule is that 80% of results come from 20% of your marketing activities.

You need to stop doing the 80% of the marketing busy work that doesn’t get any results and focus everything on the 20% of the marketing activities that do get results.

What are the right marketing activities to focus on if you want to get leads, appointments, and clients or customers as fast as possible?

Let’s examine each marketing channel one at a time and compare the busy work with what actually produces results.

Let’s get started with LinkedIn. On LinkedIn, everyone else is doing busy work: posting every day, commenting on other people’s posts, and liking other people’s posts.

They join LinkedIn groups and try to have discussions. They send sales pitches via LinkedIn messages, which is what 80% of people do on LinkedIn, and it doesn’t work very well.

They do the exact same thing on Facebook: post every day, comment on other people’s posts, like other people’s posts, join Facebook groups and try to have discussions. They’re also sending sales pitches via Facebook messages.

I know this because I’ve had clients before who were doing all of this stuff, and it wasn’t getting any results. Then after working with me, they focused on the activities that actually get results, and they finally were able to get high-quality leads and appointments every single month from LinkedIn or Facebook.

What activities on LinkedIn or Facebook do you need to focus on to get results? It’s very simple. Just ask people through direct messaging if they want to watch a video that solves their big, painful problem.

The key thing here is that they are not selling to them through messaging on LinkedIn or Facebook they are just asking them if they want to watch a free educational video that actually provides value to them.

After they watch the video, if they decide to speak to you to learn more, they can do that. But the key is that you’re not selling to them straight away. You’re providing value to them first, and then it is their choice whether to move forward.

The same goes for other free methods of getting traffic. If you write blog posts, always include a call to action that links back to your video sales letter.

If you are making YouTube videos, always tell them that if they want to learn more, they should go to the website address in the description, which, of course, leads to your sales video.

In other words, don’t make content just for the sake of making content. Have a purpose.

Another way to generate leads on autopilot is to use Facebook Ads. These ads convert really well and can generate leads and appointments every month.

Focus your Facebook ads on what’s going to get you results, which is sending people to your marketing and sales funnel. You need to ignore everything else that you can do on Facebook.

Don’t do all the other busy stuff on Facebook, Just focus on one ad because all you need is one or two really good ads on Facebook that can completely change your business.

Focus your time, energy, and money on what will yield predictable long-term results, not just gimmicks that may work well for a few months and then die out.

So here’s an easy way to visualize it: On the left, there are different marketing channels, and each of these channels is sending people to your marketing and sales funnel.

Now, the really cool thing about this strategy in step four is that four out of the five channels are actually free or low-cost. Just by using these free or low-cost channels, you can get anywhere from 5 to 30 high-quality appointments each month without spending a penny on paid advertising.

Then, whenever you’re ready, you can use Facebook ads to get as many appointments as you like on demand.

Your only limitations are your time and your target audience. The best thing about using Facebook ads is that they’re fully automated and a lot more scalable than LinkedIn, Google, and YouTube.

For example, with Facebook ads, you pay Facebook for a lead and an appointment. In my business, I pay Facebook about $5 for a lead and $50 for a book sales appointment.

After a week of running a Facebook campaign, Facebook will tell you your cost per lead and cost per appointment. Your cost per appointment can range anywhere from $30 to $300, depending on your industry competition and other factors.

But here’s the really powerful thing about using Facebook: Once Facebook tells you your cost per appointment, you can then decide exactly how many sales appointments you want every month.

So, if your cost per appointment is $50 for 10 appointments, you just pay $500 for Facebook, or if you want 30 appointments, you just pay $1,500 for Facebook. In other words, you can choose exactly how many appointments you want to get every single month on demand and remember; this isn’t for a lead.

This is for a booked sales appointment or phone call exclusively for you, and if it is a booked call someone will be expecting your phone call.

Can you see how fast your business would grow if you could get appointments from these channels every single month?
